What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners.
Bootprime is a technology services company based in India serving clients globally. We use cookies and browser storage technologies on bootprime.com in accordance with major global privacy frameworks including GDPR where applicable.
✓ We only place non-essential cookies after you give explicit consent. Essential cookies are always active as they are required for the site to function.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep the site working — essential functions like the theme toggle, cookie preference memory, and audit slot counter all rely on browser storage
- Remember your preferences — your light/dark theme choice and cookie consent decision are saved so you don't have to repeat them every visit
- Understand usage patterns — anonymised analytics help us improve the website structure, content, and performance
- Measure marketing effectiveness — if you opt in, tracking pixels help us understand which channels bring the most relevant visitors
- Prevent fraud and abuse — session data helps us detect unusual activity and protect the site
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, sell your data, or share it with data brokers under any circumstances.
Cookie Categories
We classify all cookies into three categories. The banner on our site lets you accept or decline the non-essential categories at any time.
Required for the site to function. Cannot be turned off.
Anonymised usage data to improve the site.
Campaign measurement only. No ad targeting.
Essential Cookies
These cookies and localStorage entries are strictly necessary for the website to function. They do not require your consent under PECR. You cannot disable them through our cookie banner, but you can clear them using your browser settings (note that doing so will reset your preferences).
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| bpTheme | localStorage | Stores your chosen light or dark theme preference so it persists across visits | Persistent |
| bpCookie | localStorage | Records your cookie consent decision (all / essential) so the banner is not shown on every visit | Persistent |
| bpSlots | localStorage | Tracks the monthly free audit slot counter display shown on the contact page | Resets monthly |
| bpExitShown | localStorage | Records the last time the exit-intent playbook popup was shown to avoid repeatedly showing it | 14 days |
| bpExitSession | sessionStorage | Prevents the exit popup from appearing more than once per browser session | Session |
| bpWidgetShown | sessionStorage | Prevents the AI chat widget from auto-opening more than once per session | Session |
All essential storage listed above is first-party only. No data is sent to external servers for these entries — everything stays in your own browser.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website. All data collected is anonymised — we cannot identify you personally from analytics data.
We use analytics to understand which pages are most useful, how visitors navigate the site, where they come from, and how long they stay. This helps us improve the content and structure of the site over time.
| Provider | Cookie(s) | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | _ga, _ga_* | Distinguishes unique users and sessions. IP anonymisation is enabled — your full IP address is never stored or sent to Google. | 2 years / 24 hours |
| Google Analytics | _gid | Distinguishes users across sessions for session-level reporting | 24 hours |
| Google Analytics | _gat | Used to throttle request rate to Google Analytics servers | 1 minute |
Analytics cookies are only set if you select "Accept All" in our cookie banner. If you choose "Essential Only", no analytics cookies are placed. You can change this at any time using the preference panel at the top of this page.
Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies are used to understand how effective our promotional efforts are — for example, whether visitors arrive from a paid ad, a LinkedIn post, or an organic search result.
We do not use marketing cookies for:
- Retargeting or remarketing advertisements to you across the web
- Building advertising profiles or audiences
- Sharing data with ad networks or data brokers
- Personalising third-party ads on other websites
Marketing cookies are optional and are only set if you select "Accept All". At present, this category may include LinkedIn Insight Tag (for measuring B2B campaign performance) and similar measurement-only pixels. These are only active when you have given consent.
Third-Party Cookies
Some functionality on our website is provided by third-party services. These services may set their own cookies when you interact with embedded content or features on our site.
| Third Party | Category | Triggered When | Their Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Analytics | Page load (consent required) | policies.google.com |
| Google Fonts | Essential | Every page load — loads website fonts | policies.google.com |
| Calendly | Essential / Functional | Only when you click "Open Calendly" on the contact page | calendly.com/privacy |
| Cloudflare | Essential | All pages — provides CDN, security, and DDoS protection | cloudflare.com |
| Stripe | Essential | Only when a payment page or form is loaded | stripe.com/privacy |
Third-party cookies are governed by each provider's own privacy policy. We have no control over those cookies once they are set. Where third-party services are non-essential (e.g. analytics), they are only loaded after you give consent.
Cookie Durations
Cookies can be either session-based or persistent:
- Session cookies — exist only while your browser is open. They are automatically deleted when you close your browser tab or window.
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period of time or until you manually delete them. The duration varies by cookie as listed in the tables above.
- localStorage / sessionStorage — browser storage mechanisms that function similarly to cookies but are stored differently. sessionStorage is cleared when the browser session ends; localStorage persists until cleared manually or by the website.
All persistent storage set by Bootprime expires within a maximum of 2 years. Essential localStorage entries (theme, consent) are indefinite but contain no personal data.
Your Choices
You are in full control of your cookie preferences. You have three options:
Accept All Cookies
Essential, analytics, and marketing cookies are all enabled. This gives you the full website experience and helps us improve the site. You can change this at any time.
Essential Only
Only the cookies strictly necessary for the website to work are placed. No analytics or marketing cookies are set. This is the minimum required for the site to function correctly.
Change or Reset Your Preference
You can change your preference at any time using the panel at the top of this page, or by clicking the Cookie Preferences button in the website footer. Your new choice takes effect immediately and is saved for future visits.
Changes take effect immediately. Selecting "Reset / Ask Again" will clear your saved preference and show the cookie banner on your next page visit.
Browser Controls
In addition to our in-site controls, you can manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View all cookies stored on your device and delete individual ones
- Block all cookies from being set by default
- Block third-party cookies specifically while allowing first-party cookies
- Set cookies to expire when you close the browser
- Receive a notification whenever a cookie is about to be set
How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
⚠ Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some website features, such as the theme toggle and audit slot counter, which rely on localStorage to remember your preferences.
Opt Out of Google Analytics
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This works independently of our in-site cookie preference.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. There is currently no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
Bootprime does not currently respond to DNT browser signals. Instead, we provide the cookie consent controls described in Section 09 above, which give you direct and effective control over what is tracked on our site.
If a DNT standard is agreed upon and becomes mandatory under UK or EU law, we will update our practices accordingly.
Policy Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as we add new features, change our analytics tools, or in response to changes in applicable law. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- If the changes are material (e.g. we add a new category of cookies), re-ask for your consent via the cookie banner
- Post a notice on the website where required
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Continued use of the site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
